Get fit and healthy with Sodexo

Sodexo, a leading provider of on-site service solutions, has re-launched its Healthworks offer, which supports clients and their employees to reduce health risks, improve quality of life, and enhance personal effectiveness – ultimately helping to create a healthier workforce.

Healthworks is Sodexo’s gym offer that recognises the individual requirements of clients and their employees and delivers a high quality bespoke gym service. Through education, motivation and challenge, Healthworks aims to support its members to achieve personal fitness and wellbeing goals.

Healthworks is linked to Sodexo’s nutrition, wellbeing and lifestyle philosophy – Healthwise, which has been helping clients and staff for more than 25 years to better understand lifestyle choices and to improve health through fitness and a balanced diet.

It is widely acknowledged that physical exercise is proven to be one of the most effective methods of reducing stress and stress related illness. Holistic wellbeing therapies increase wellbeing and even boost immunity. Some of the direct benefits that many clients have seen include:

 - reduced absenteeism

- increased motivation and performance

- decrease in staff turnover

- better employee integration

- improved working atmosphere

The offer development team worked closely with clients to understand exactly what is required of a gym solution and to ensure that the new look Healthworks offer was in line with modern themes associated with gyms and general wellbeing.

The offer comes with a new logo and is based on colours that are considered sporty, fresh and motivating -purple, green, black and white. Fresh marketing materials have also been designed to support the brand identity such as programme cards, stretch cards, posters, information boards, and much more.

With 10 sites refreshed with the new branding and 16 more in the pipeline, Healthworks is already attracting new members, and so much so that even Matt Dawson, Sodexo’s ambassador for health and wellbeing, decided to drop by at ING in London, one of Sodexo’s Prestige London sites.

Matt, said: “I am really excited to be working with Sodexo on health, wellbeing and fitness. This is a unique role and one where I hope I can add value by providing an insight into health and wellbeing. One of the key elements to fitness is nutrition, which is why I have worked with Sodexo to develop a nutrition booklet that is provided to members as part of the Healthworks offer. It provides valuable guidance on eating regimes pre and post exercise.

Wan Mak, head of nutrition and dietetics, said: “As a food and facilities management provider, the health and wellbeing of our clients and staff is a top priority for us. Through offers that support our Healthwise campaign like Healthworks, we provide additional ways for businesses to foster a positive culture for healthier lifestyles.”
